Project Role and Scope of Work

IH served as the prime consultant for this project. The scope of work included managing the NBIS field inspections, load rating, calculations, priority repair letters, report preparation, and SI&A form coding with Pontis Lite program updates in accordance with NBIS and NJDOT standards. Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) coordination was necessary for these inspections. Some of the bridges required fracture critical member, fatigue prone detail, underwater, electrical and mechanical inspection.

Types of structures inspected included: composite built-up plate girders, steel through girders, curved steel girders, rolled steel girders, welded steel plate girders, pony truss, bascule span bridges, multiple steel stringers, prestressed concrete voided slab beams, prestressed concrete box beams, prestressed concrete solid slab beams, reinforced concrete box culvert, combined prestressed concrete box, and channel beams, combined reinforced concrete arch, and adjacent box beam.
