Project Role and Scope of Work

IH served as the prime consultant for this bridge inspection project. The scope of work included inspection, load rating, preparation of priority repair letters, and preparation of inspection reports for 49 bridges on New Jersey Transit’s Morristown Line and North Jersey Coast Line.

Some of these bridges required scour critical, fracture-critical member, and fracture prone detail inspections. Responsibilities included underwater inspections, the identification of serious structural and safety conditions, and assisting the client with evaluations and recommendations for remedial action. Types of structures included: through girder, concrete slab, concrete box, T-beam, brick arch, and concrete arch.
