Project Role and Scope of Work

IH is serving as the prime consultant for the design and construction support services for this ramp rehabilitation project. The scope of work includes in-depth inspection, preparation of the Design Approval Document, alternatives analysis, and the preliminary and final design for the rehabilitation or replacement of this 25-span steel-framed structure over AMTRAK.

IH will provide construction support services, including shop drawing review and responding to requests for information (RFI).

Structural Engineering

The structural effort includes coordination with Amtrak to perform the in-depth inspection, conducting alternatives analysis and recommending a preferred alternative, structural FEM modeling, fatigue analysis, deck replacement design, structural steel rehabilitation/replacement design, as well as bearing modifications and seismic retrofit.

Civil / Highway Engineering

The civil design effort includes Data Collection, Traffic Capacity Analysis, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT), Drainage/Storm Water design, and design of Utility Accommodation.
