Distinguished Engineering Award 2021

Just another success for IH Engineers. New Jersey Alliance For Action's Distinguished Engineering Award for the Route 173 Culvert Replacement in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, NJ. The existing Culvert consisted of two sections. The upstream half was constructed in 1919 as a single span 10’Wx2.5’H cast-in-place reinforced concrete rigid frame with a monolithic reinforced concrete bottom slab. The downstream half was constructed in 1949 as a dual 36”x58” corrugated metal pipe-arches. The structural design eliminated the composite structure with a single pre-cast box culvert.  Design team: John W. Korunow, Wen Jinn Chiou, Gary Patterson, David Chiu, Kishorkant Shah, and engineering and CADD support staff. What an honor to receive a distinguished engineering award! Congratulations!
